I look over at Kenzie. The tall blonde arrived with Noah this morning and has been trying to keep me distracted. I know she's also keeping an eye on me so I don't take off, but that's going to change soon. Dr. Tanner came in to tell me I need to continue bed rest until my appointment next week. He is also referring me to a dietitian after failing the glucose test. They will help me with diet to control my blood sugar so I don't have to go on medications. I also have to monitor my blood pressure. He’s concerned with how high it shot up yesterday.

"I know everything is confusing right now, but Linc is a really nice guy," Kenzie says softly as she stands and stretches her body. I notice her left leg drags slightly when she walks across the room.

"Can I ask you a question?" I slide up in the bed. I'm now dressed in a pair of jeans rolled at the cuff and a blue polka-dot shirt that wraps and ties over my belly. Ollie brought me fresh clothes and my makeup bag. My hair is in a braid down my back to control my crazy curls, and the front of my hair is in a victory roll. Ollie insisted I wear ballet flats after fainting yesterday.

"Of course." Kenzie turns toward me. Her flowy peach colored baggy shirt is belted over her belly and her black leggings make her long legs look even longer. She's twenty-five weeks pregnant and her belly is only a bit bigger than mine. I must be carrying a baby elephant instead of a human with as big as I am.

"I'm a physical therapist and noticed you have a slight drop on your left side. Is it neurological or structural?"

"Oh, that." She looks down a bit flustered.

"I'm sorry."

"No, it’s okay. It’s just hard getting used to it. I'm a bit tired, which is when it happens. The baby kept me up last night kicking my bladder. I swear I have a soccer player in here. I was attacked almost six months ago and suffered some traumatic brain damage. The doctors said this will happen."

"I could help you, if you want."

"With?"

"Well, I can teach you exercises that will help build your endurance and teach you how to control when it happens."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I don't just do sports injuries. I did a rotation in a neurological ward and helped teach and develop some measures."

"That would be perfect. I have my dog trained to help me when I’m fatigued. But times like now when I can't have him with me would be amazing."

"It's a date. After I get off bed rest, you can meet me at my place, or I can come to yours. I can also help you make your home more efficient for you and your condition. With the baby coming, you'll need all the help you can get."

"That's for sure. This little bundle has been a complete surprise to us."

"Do you know what you're having?"

"No, we decided to wait and be surprised.
